Initial Challenge: Ensuring Candidate Culture Fit

Aryel, a fast-growing tech startup, was facing a crucial phase of its expansion. The need to hire candidates who not only possessed the required technical skills but also shared the company’s core values and distinctive behaviors had become a priority to ensure new hires had the most pleasant onboarding and integration experience possible. It was essential for these values and behaviors to be clearly communicated and assessed as early as the interview stage to guarantee effective cultural alignment and improve hiring success.

Strategy: A toolkit for assessing cultural alignment with the organization during the interview stage

To analyze the current situation regarding perceived culture, we:

  • conducted an exploratory survey among all employees
  • interviewed key figures for an in-depth look at the survey results

Subsequently, we led the co-design work by involving all participants in a series of workshops:

  • AS IS Workshop, where we reviewed and redefined the values of Aryel’s culture
  • Recruiting TO BE Workshop, where we redesigned the recruiting experience, defining practical instructions for questions and observations during interviews
  • Onboarding TO BE Workshop, where we evolved the onboarding experience for new resources, making it more consistent and tangible, including through new rituals
